Committed battery manufacturing capacity in 2030 is based on current manufacturing capacity, committed expansions, and additional committed capacity. Committed refer to projects that are either under construction or have reached a final investment decision. Manufacturing capacity refers to nominal yearly (GWh/year) production capacity. Solid state refers to semi-, quasi- and all-solid state batteries. Due to limited data availability on the status of sodium-ion battery projects, the same committed-to-announced capacity ratio as for new lithium-ion battery plants is used to estimate committed sodium-ion battery manufacturing capacity.
