CCUS = carbon capture, utilisation and storage. “Behaviour” refers to energy service demand changes linked to user decisions (e.g. heating temperature changes). “Avoided demand” refers to energy service demand changes from technology developments (e.g. digitalisation). “Other fuel shifts” refers to switching from coal and oil to natural gas, nuclear, hydropower, geothermal, concentrating solar power or marine energy. “Hydrogen” includes hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels.
