The use of such data by the OECD is without prejudice to the status of the Golan Heights, East Jerusalem and Israeli settlements in the West Bank under the terms of international law. For the assessment of climate risk, this figure uses the Global Climate Risk Index (CRI) 1999-2018 developed by Germanwatch, which quantifies impacts of extreme weather events in terms of fatalities and economic losses. In the original CRI, the lower CRI score indicates the higher climate risks. In the figure, however, this is reversed for better visualisation (Climate risk = 200-CRI score of 1999-2018). The size of each bubble indicates the total Covid-19 deathsl of each country.
