Notes

The contribution to hourly ramping is calculated as each technology’s hour-to-hour change in output when that change is in the same direction as the change in net load (defined as demand minus variable renewables). Each technology’s contribution is expressed as a share of the sum of same-direction changes across all generators in the same hour. The analysis is based on transmission-level data; ramping from behind-the-meter resources (e.g. batteries or aggregators) is not included.
