France-Germany-Italy Joint Communique on Critical Raw Materials
As part of a series of trilateral meetings designed to enhance co-operation on strategic priorities, the economic ministers of France, Germany and Italy convened to collaborate on the sustainable supply of critical raw materials. The Ministers issued this Joint Communique with the aim for deepening co-ordination on extraction and processing, as well as advancing the circular economy through recycling. The meeting, which was also attended by industry representatives, provided a platform for strategising on how to best provide support to mineral companies. Namibia Germany agreement on green hydrogen
Namibian National Planning Commission director general Obeth Kandjoze and German research minister Anja Karliczek signed an agreement in Windhoek and Berlin. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research will provide up to 40 million euro in funding from the Economic Stimulus and Future Package for this cooperation. The two governments intend also to provide scholarships for young Namibian scientists and engineers to develop skills among their peers in Germany.

Australia-Germany hydrogen supply chain projects

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and German Federal Ministry of Education and Research will commit respectively AUD 50 million (from the AUD 565.8 million provided in the 2021-2022 Budget initiative for low emissions technology partnerships) and EUR 50 million to fund HyGATE, a new joint Hydrogen Innovation and Technology Incubator. Algeria- Germany - Declaration of Intent in green hydrogen cooperation
In 2024, Germany and Algeria signed a declaration of intent to cooperate on a green hydrogen taskforce. The cooperation will be extended to the production, storage, and transport of green hydrogen and its derivatives. The full implementation of this cooperation will be based on the SoutH2 project, which is expected to be fully operational as early as 2030.
