Klimaaktiv mobil - active mobility and mobility management
The klimaaktiv mobil fund focuses on supporting active mobility - cycling and walking - as well as mobility management. In 2025, numerous projects with a funding volume of around USD 61.6 million (EUR 56.7 million) (EUR 49.4 million national fund + EUR 7.3 million) EAFRD-European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) have been approved. The program will be continously implemented and further developed, in particular to build up and expand high-quality infrastructure for cycling and walking.

The E-mobility Strategy (2025-2030) is a government-led roadmap to create a national charging network, mandating the availability of 1,176 reliable charging centers in Addis Ababa and 1,054 centers in regional areas by 2030. The programme involves direct government investment for the initial stages of infrastructure provision and targeted intervention in locations where private sector interest is minimal.
