Hydrogen Agenda cover

Participation is by invitation only.

‌Hydrogen is a versatile energy carrier that can be produced from a wide range of energy sources and used in multiple applications across the entire energy sector. It is already an important part of energy systems, mainly for its use in the refining industry and as a feedstock for chemicals production. But its future potential is much larger and interest among governments and industry in the opportunities for supporting and investing in hydrogen is rising.

The International Energy Agency is preparing a major new study to assess the state of play for hydrogen, its economics and future potential. The analysis will cover the entire technology chain for hydrogen from production, transport and storage to its various uses. It will also discuss near-term opportunities for hydrogen deployment as well as practical steps for implementation. The report will be a key input to the 2019 G20 Presidency of Japan.
