Background
On the 22nd and 23rd of March 2011, the IEA hosted a workshop on CCS costs at the IEA offices in Paris. The workshop was organised by a steering committee consisting of Howard Herzog (MIT), John Davison (IEAGHG), Ed Rubin (Carnegie Mellon), Richard Rhudy (EPRI), Christopher Short (GCCSI), Clas Ekstrom (Vattenfall) and Matthias Finkenrath (IEA).
The workshop included the following sessions:
- Audiences and uses for CCS cost estimates
- CCS costing methods and measures
- Status of costs along the full CCS chain (capture, transport and storage)
Participation was by invitation only.
