IEA for EU4Energy Training Week on Monthly Statistics

The International Energy Agency is pleased to announce the IEA for EU4Energy training week on Monthly statistics, which be held in Odessa, Ukraine from 12-16th March inclusive.

The training will start by the 16th Regional JODI training workshop (2.5 day), jointly organized by the IEA for EU4Energy and IEF, with the support of the JODI partners: APEC, Eurostat, GECF, IEA, OPEC, OLADE and UNSD, and be followed by an IEA led training on extended monthly statistics.

The IEA is leading the implementation of the EU4Energy Programme funded by the European Union (EU) for the following Eastern Partnership (EaP) and Central Asian countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (the Focus Countries).

The programme’s aim is to work with the 11 beneficiary countries on improving energy data capabilities and enhancing data collection and monitoring, as well as assisting them in evidence-based energy policy design pertinent to the country’s needs. 

The aim of the training week is to train statisticians to 1) enhance JODI-Oil & JODI-Gas submissions and improve overall data quality and energy data transparency of the EU4Energy programme focus countries and 2) broaden knowledge of data needs for energy security policy (oil, gas, electricity), including stock reporting.

The training week will also include a half-day session dedicated to data dissemination, as well as a joint session with the IEA for EU4Energy Sustainable Transport Policy Forum.

This training is by invitation only. 55 participants have been selected. They are statisticians in charge of energy monthly energy data collection at national statistical offices of focus countries and data users from analytical departments of energy ministries, state agencies and stock holding institutions.

The training will be provided in English with simultaneous interpretation and translation of Excel based exercises into Russian.
