Average duration of ESCO projects in Spain:
- Less than 5 years: 38%
- 5-10 years: 50%
- 11-15 years: 12%
Majority of ESCO projects are financed by debt borrowed by the ESCO. There are a number of dedicated private funds, like Suma Capital fund, SUSI National Energy Efficiency fund, SI Partners Fund and Whitehelm Fund providing this financing for the Spanish ESCO market
The QualitEE survey has collected data surrounding the main drivers and barriers of business for ESCOs in Spain. This is an excellent opportunity to compare the structural differences of ESCO markets to identify policies or mechanisms that account for such variance. Policies can then be built to complement existing drivers and overcome identified barriers.
