This competition was designed by the EPA to recognize cutting-edge green building ideas which reduce the environmental and energy impacts of buildings. The competition collects ideas from students and professionals on designing buildings for adaptation, deconstruction, and material reuse. Lifecycle building incorporates innovative strategies for creating buildings that can be easily disassembled, allowing their components to be reused rather than landfilled to conserve resources and energy. The Lifecycle Building Challenge competition allows architects, reuse experts, engineers, designers, planners, contractors, builders, educators, environmental advocates, and students in any program to submit built and design work.
