In January 2011, Uganda implemented a Feed-in-tariff system, valid for a 20 years period, to support renewable energy deployment.
Feed-in-tariffs differ for each technology, are adjusted annually and calculated with regards to annual capacity caps to 2014.
FIT rates are dollar denominated.
They have been fixed for the years 2011 - 2012 as follows:
In November 2012 new feed-in tariff levels have been announced as well as new generation caps for years 2013-2016.
Generation caps have been adjusted accordingly due to low updake by the developers.
Solar PV is no longer eligible to benefit from the scheme.
