The Emprove; programme was operated by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA). Emprove focused on helping businesses to get more from their expenditure on energy. The programme targeted large energy users - companies that spent over NZD 250,000 per annum on energy - through the implementation of energy management programmes. The programme provided a range of services enabling businesses to realise energy efficiency opportunities:

  • An EECA account manager to provide on-site support with energy management for large users;
  • Provision of Energy Achiever - an energy management diagnostic tool to help evaluate current energy management practices, identify critical actions, and provide a structured framework to achieve continuous improvement in energy management;
  • Funding for energy audits to identify energy saving opportunities;
  • Seminars and workshops to up-skill energy managers on managing energy; and
  • Case study information highlighting the energy efficient practices of other companies

The Emprove service also promoted energy efficiency through selected publications, e.g. Energywise News, targeting energy managers and chief executives.
