As part of the Climate Policy Implementation plan, an Energy Performance Advice (EPA) for poorly insulated housing units is subsidised by the state. Recommendations for improvement are made based on an energy scan showing measures that can be taken, resulting energy savings, and costs. As of 2005, the EPA is no longer being subsidized as The Netherlands will conform to the EU Directive on efficiency of builidings. However households can still buy the advice on how to increase the energy efficiency of their homes.
