Description:"The Coordinating Committee for Use of the Kyoto Mechanisms" has been established by the Global Warming Prevention Headquarters. The Committee will deal with approvals by Japan, as a Party to the Kyoto Protocol, of projects that relate to Joint Implementation (JI) and the clean development mechanism (CDM) under the Protocol as well as any procedures and other essential matters relating to project approvals. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of the Environment will collaborate to establish a National Registry, and will jointly conduct operations and administration as the National Registry Administrators. In addition, the two Ministries must report the contents of the National Registry to the Coordinating Committee.
