Description:A tax reform which will lower taxes on work and raise taxes on products that harm the environment, climate and health was agreed by a majority in the Danish Parliament in March 2009. In total the taxation affecting energy, climate and transportation will be increased by DKK 8 billion (about EUR 1.1 billion). With this agreement on taxation, Denmark has moved towards a green tax system, aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and gross energy consumption, as well as promoting renewable energy.
