In accordance with the EU directive on energy efficiency the Danish government submitted it’s National Energy Action Plan (NEEAP) on 29 April 2014. The Danish NEEAP gives an overview over the existing policies and measures enhancing energy efficiency in Denmark. The Danish national target for energy efficiency in Denmark is in accordance with the requirements of the energy efficiency directive article 3 an absolute target for primary energy consumption. In 2020 the target is 744, 4 PJ (17,781 Mtoe). The result is a 12, 6 percent reduction in 2020 compared to 2006.
In 2012 EU adopted the Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency. In accordance with the directive Denmark submitted its National Energy Efficiency Action plan in April 2013. The Danish NEAP compromises the Danish Policy of the Danish Energy Agreement of March 2012.
