The "Financial Support Fund for the Electrification of non-interconnected Zones" finances non-conventional power generation projects (RE), local electricity distribution, the interconnection of rural grids and the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure in non-interconnected areas.
The fund initially was valid until 2007, but was later extended until 2021.
Law 1099 of 2006 extended FAZNI until 2014.
