Description:In December 2004, the provincial government of British Columbia updated its climate change actions by releasing "Weather, Climate and the Future: B.C.s Plan". This Plan will guide the provinces approach as it works with the federal government, industry, local government and individuals to address climate change. British Columbias plan sets an ambitious target - maintain the provinces current ranking of third lowest per capita greenhouse gas emissions - and outlines 40 actions that will lead the provinces efforts in this regard. Already, progress has been made on 30 of these actions. British Columbias plan to address climate change is the result of extensive research and consultation with, among other, scientists, health officials, economists and British Columbians.
