Zero interest green loan

Last updated: 5 November 2017
The annual energy bill of the Brussels household has kept increasing in recent years. In addition, housing is often very poorly insulated and equipped, which means that only renovation work can have a significant impact on consumption: replacement of old single glazing with high-performance double glazing, insulation of the roof or attic, or installation of a regulating thermostat and thermostatic valves. For low- or medium-income families, financing these works may not always be easy, given that the savings on the energy bill are only apparent after the work is done.
That why Brussels has concluded a partnership with the CREDAL alternative credit cooperative to make the Brussels Green Loan available to Brussels households with a limited income. This is a zero-rate energy loan. This will soon be extended to all households in Brussels.
