Last updated: 14 September 2020
The Energy Efficient Communities Program will deliver $40 million of grants to help businesses and community groups lower their energy bills and reduce emissions. Funding will support businesses to save energy through:
• equipment upgrades that reduce energy consumption, excluding energy generation equipment, such as solar PV panels • investment in energy and emissions monitoring and management systems to better manage energy use • completion of energy systems assessments according to the Australian Standard or feasibility studies to investigate energy efficiency opportunities.
Eligible businesses will be able to apply for grants from mid-2020. $10 million of the grants has been allocated for dairy farm businesses. Other rounds will support small businesses and high energy using businesses.
