GOST R 55012-2012 Energy efficiency. Air-conditioners for household purpose and similar. Indicators of energy efficiency and determination methods

Last updated: 22 July 2020

This standard applies to household air conditioners operating from the electrical network of a general power supply system (hereinafter referred to as air conditioners).

This standard does not apply to air conditioners:

  • working from other sources of energy;
  • with steam and water-to-water heat pump;
  • with a cooling capacity of more than 12 kW.

The standard specifies the energy efficiency classes of air conditioners, the calculation of the energy efficiency index and the contents of the energy efficiency label attached to each air conditioner.

The energy efficiency label should contain the following information about the air conditioners:

a) working in cooling mode:

- name or trade mark of the manufacturer;

- model designation;

- energy efficiency class;

- annual energy consumption in cooling mode (approximately 500 operating hours per year at full load), kW;

- refrigerating capacity, kW;

- index of energy efficiency in cooling mode at full load;

- type of air conditioner (an arrow must be located opposite the corresponding type);

- cooling method: air or water (an arrow must be located opposite the corresponding type);

- corrected sound power level, dBA (if necessary);

b) working in cooling or heating mode:

- name or trade mark of the manufacturer;

- model designation;

- energy efficiency class;

- annual energy consumption in cooling mode (approximately 500 operating hours per year at full load), kW;

- refrigerating capacity, kW;

- index of energy efficiency in cooling mode at full load;

- type of air conditioner (an arrow must be located opposite the corresponding type);

- cooling method: air or water (an arrow must be located opposite the corresponding type);

- heating capacity, kW;

- energy efficiency class (in heating mode);

- corrected sound power level, dBA (if necessary).

An energy performance label must be attached to each air conditioner and, when displaying an air conditioner put up by a trader for sale, must be positioned so that it is clearly visible when viewed by a potential buyer.
