National program for residential labelling

Last updated: 28 November 2019

The objective of the Program is to introduce the Energy Efficiency Label as an instrument to provide information to users about the energy performance of a residential building and constitute an additional decision tool when carrying out a real estate operation, evaluating a new project or carrying out interventions in existing buildings.

From the point of view of the State, it represents a fundamental tool that allows, in principle, to quantify the energy performance of residential buildings to be able to compare them between them, and from this build a baseline that serves as a reference for the development of public policies and addressing different incentive mechanisms.

As a part of this program a tool was developed, it allows professionals to perform the energy efficiency assessment of a building anywhere in the country based on a survey of the same and obtain the corresponding label, according to the guidelines established at the national level. It also allows recommendations for improvement and quantify their impact in terms of potential savings.

In order to test this tool and make adjustments to the implementation system, taking into account the climatic, socio-economic and local construction practices, it is necessary to carry out pilot project in localities of different regions of the country.

In 2017/2018 Rosario and Santa Fe were the first provinces conducting pilot projects, followed by Mendoza, Bariloche and Tucumán in 2018 and Salta and CABA in 2019.
