Teaching Environmental Responsibility Programme (Chiapas)

The mission of the Teaching Environmental Responsibility programme is to establish an environmentally responsible culture across Chiapas and its educational system. The objective is to implement healthy and sustainable practices and policies based on effective processes in Chiapas and obtain participation of the citizens to achieve the goals of sustainable development including initiatives for energy efficiency and renewable energy integration.

Different initiatives include:

  • development of educational materials,
  • Teacher Professional Development,
  • Certification and Sustainable Healthy Schools (ESYS) and
  • Broadcasting and Culture.

The initiative aims  to reach 1500 of primary school, 150 secondary school and 10 universities, both public and private.
