The Long-term national development plan for the fuel and energy sector up to 2015, endorsed by a decision of Parliament, sets long-term objectives in the energy sector, including electricity. The Plan sets a target for the share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources, of 5.1% of total consumption by 2010. It also calls for the development of measures to enable the use of renewable liquid fuels, particularly biodiesel, in the transport sector. State fuel policy is also to be elaborated based on this consideration, and excise duties amended.
