Hydropower and wind development programme - Minsk Oblast

In October 2007, the Minsk oblast announced large-scale hydropower and wind power facility development plans.

The Oblast plans to build over 700 wind turbine towers with the capacity of 1 MW each between 2008 and 2010. These are to be developed in the Minsk, Dzerzhinsk, Volozhin, Molodechno, and Logoisk regions. There are also plans to build three small hydropower plants in the Berezino, Smolevichi and Molodechno regions in 2008.
