Strategy for greater use of renewable energy sources

In April 2007, the Slovak government approved the Strategy for Greater Use of Renewable Energy Sources in the Slovak Republic, which contains targets for the use of renewable energy sources in electricity and heat generation to be reached by 2010 and 2015. These targets have been set based on the potential of individual energy sources, their current usae and their expected futre use . In order to achieve these targets, The Slovak government is planning financial and legislative measures as well as measures in the field of education, science and research on renewable energy sources. An act on the promotion of renewable energy sources is under preparation and is expected to be approved in the course of 2008.
