In 2000, an interim support scheme for small-scale electricity production (production plants < 1.5 MW) was established. Its aim was to ensure the conditions that will allow small-scale renewable electricity production to achieve further market penetration. The support amounted to SKr 0.09/kWh. The support measure was approved by the European Commission and was established in July 2000 in Economic Conditions for the Production of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources (Government Bill 1999/2000:134).
