Transport policy for the period 2014-2020

The strategy states that it is necessary to favour vehicles with lower specific energy consumption and lower emission levels. It is necessary to develop and implement distribution tariffs for the use of infrastructure for different vehicle categories based on their specific consumption. Another goal is to aim at increasing the share of renewables in total energy consumption in transport by 2020 to 10% in accordance with EU agreements. The strategy also states the intention to reduce emissions of NOx, VOC and PM 2.5 from the road transport sector, renewal of the fleet of the Czech Republic and by increasing the share of alternative drive systems to reduce losses in the operation of power systems and equipment in electric traction, increase the conversion efficiency by driving vehicles in rail transport in fleet renewal and to ensure the use of energy recovery on electrified lines of the RIA.
