Emission Quality Standard for New Vehicle L3 Category (Ministerial Regulation No.23/2012)

Last updated: 17 October 2019

The regulation sets out standards for pollutant emissions standards (CO, HC, and NOx)

Quality emission standard for motorcycles with 50 cc or above. The testing methodology "I" uses UN Regulation 40 and EU Directive 2002/51/EC as well as WMTC (Worldwide Harmonized Motorcycle Emissions Certification Procedure).

The following are the Motor Vehicle Exhaust Gas Quality Standards with Testing Methods UN Regulation 40 and EU Directive 2002/51/EC

For L3 < 150 cc (Test Method ECE R40, UDC Mode, cold start):

CO: 2.0 gram/km

HC: 0.8 gram/km

NOx: 0.15 gram/km

For L3 >= 150 cc (Test Method ECE R40, UDC+EUDC mode, cold start):

CO: 2.0 gram/km

HC: 0.3 gram/km

NOx: 0.15 gram/km

Notes:

1. UDC = Urban Driving Cycle, EUDC = Extra Urban Driving Cycle

2. Measurement of CO idle emissions is carried out by the UN Type II Testing method Regulation R40. The measurement results are recorded. The measurement results are recorded in the test results sheet.

3. L3 vehicle category is a two-wheeled motorized vehicle with cylinder capacity of more than 50 cm3 or by design speed

a maximum of more than 50 km / h regardless of the type of propulsion.
