Housing Energy Performance diagnosis (DPE) revision

Last updated: 6 October 2021

Provided for by the ELAN law promulgated in 2018, the revised energy performance diagnosis (DPE) will come into force on 1 July 2021. The DPE provides information on the energy performance of a dwelling and, in particular, guides choices in terms of renovation work.   The revision of the energy performance diagnosis takes into account a unified calculation method and more readable indicators (from A to G). It also takes into account the double energy-carbon threshold to determine energy labels.

The policy is part of the French Plan de Relance to improve its buildings' energy perfomance and upgrade its overall standards (GHG emissions reduction) towards a green transition.
