Our next "Big Ideas" Speaker Series will focus on Building an Energy and Climate Grand Coalition and discussing real-world energy solutions to achieve climate goals.

Three distinguished guests will participate in this high-level event: Mr. Joan Groizard Payeras, Director-General, Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDAE), Spain; H.E. Dr Michał Kurtyka, Poland's Minister of Climate and President of COP24, Poland; and Rt Hon Kwasi Kwarteng, Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, United Kingdom, which holds the Presidency of COP26.

Background

The Big Ideas talks are part of the IEA's high-level distinguished speaker series in which global leaders, top thinkers and decision makers are invited to give idea-focused talks that aim to foster learning and inspiration – and provoke discussions that matter.

Previous speakers have included former Irish President, the Hon. Mary Robinson; US Secretary of Energy, the Hon. Dan Brouillette; and 2018 Nobel Laureate, Mr. William Nordhaus.
