The IEA held together with Energy Research Institute (ERI) a workshop to launch the China Energy Technology Transitions project. The project funded by the UK government, will help build capacity on energy technology modelling, scenario analysis and roadmaps for China. It will feed into ETP 2010 and the IEA’s international roadmaps project. Ambassador Jones (pictured above) offered a welcome address and other IEA participants included Peter Taylor, Cecilia Tam, Keith Burnard and Julie Jiang. The Chinese government expressed their support for this project and shared their views on the need for greater international collaboration to promote low carbon technologies. The workshop was attended by over 40 experts from government, industry and academia. |
