Background: |
The Chemical and Petrochemical Industry accounts for 30% of total industrial final energy use. About half is oil and gas feedstock use for the production of synthetic organic products such as plastics and solvents. While a wide range of products is produced, a few processes account for 80% of the fuel use in this sector. |
