Background: |
Motor systems account for half to two thirds of industrial electricity use, or 25-40% of global electricity use. Motor systems can be split into a number of segments, each with their own efficiency. A potential for 20-30% efficiency gains for complete systems is widely quoted. This potential equals 10% of global electricity demand. However for a range of reasons this potential is not put into practice. Goal of the workshop is to quantify the global potential better and to discuss various approaches to overcome the barriers to improvements. Participation at this event is by invitation only |
