Background:

Please note the date change

The project seeks to identify the potential for modern sustainable use, supply and production of biomass in Africa, and effective technologies and policies to realise this potential through broader and accelerated replication and scaling-up.

The workshop will gather various biomass energy sector stakeholders, including policy makers, technology experts, the private sector, and bilateral and multilateral organisations active in developing and developed countries.

The outcome will serve as input to the policy session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) in April/May 2007.
