Background:
|
This will be the 3rd in a series of joint workshops staged by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the International Energy Agency. It will focus on the outlook for energy in the Middle East and North Africa. This high-level event is being hosted by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Energy and will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Kuwait City on 15 May, 2005.
The workshop will cover economic prospects in the Middle East and North Africa, the region’s potential future sustainable development and its outlook for energy demand and supply. The workshop is expected to provide insight for the World Energy Outlook 2005 which the IEA will be publishing in November. It is also seen as an additional step in continuing to strengthen the spirit of co-operation and dialogue which has been growing for some years between the IEA and OPEC.
Participation is by invitation only. |
