Background: |
Cooling Buildings in a Warming Climate will begin by taking an overview of key trends in cooling energy demand, climate change science and projections for climate change impacts on building energy demand. In the second major session, the Forum will move into detailed sessions on different cooling technologies and solutions, reviewing not only the state of play but also trends and possibilities over the next 25 years, as well as policy options and priorities. Consistent with the Future Buildings Forum format, most of this session and the next will be devoted to brainstorming and discussions within small ‘working groups’, rather than formal presentations, with the key focus on identifying practical solutions. The final plenary will draw together the findings from the brainstorming sessions, with the aim of identifying a key action agenda for key policy priorities and the main research priorities for the future. The Workshop will be of interest to all those involved in buildings research and technologies; building design; buildings, efficiency and climate change policy; climate and comfort research and urban planning. |
