Background: |
An effective and efficient uptake of appliance energy efficiency policy in the new member countries of the EU and other Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) is essential for the internal market in the EU and future progress in this field. Full implementation of the Acquis Communautaire and other policies and participation in EU programmes will create a foundation for energy conservation in the CEEC. This will prevent future transfer of outdated technologies and once the relevant policies are in place, will lead to the desired upgrade of equipment. |
