Plan of Action: Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development

At the Gleneagles Summit on 7th 8th July 2005, the G8 Heads of Government addressed the challenge of climate change, promoting clean energy, and achieving sustainable development globally. They launched a Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development and engaged other significant energy consumers, including Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa. The G8 Communiqué stated that it would act with resolve and urgency and agreed to a specific Plan of Action.


Officials from the International Energy Agency and The World Bank Group presented an update on the Gleneagles Plan of Action: Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development in Montréal.
