Speaker Biographies
Dr. Jacek Podkanski is a Senior Energy Technology Specialist at the International
Energy Agency. Within the Office of Energy Efficiency, Technology and R&D,
Dr. Podkanski is responsible for clean fossil fuels technologies and international
R&D co-operation in this field. He is also a secretary to the IEA Working
Party on Fossil Fuels. Before joining the IEA, Dr. Podkanski was responsible
for implementation of international environmental assistance programmes on
improvements in energy sector in Central and Eastern Europe. His research activities
concerned the capture of sulfur and carbon dioxide, and the economics of pollution
abatement in the energy sector.
