Speaker Biographies
George Marsh is Chief Consultant for energy policy with AEA Techology. In
recent years much of his work has been concerned with policy and technical
options for the abatement of greenhouse gas emissions. He led the AEAT team
that carried out a major energy systems modelling assessments, for the UK’s
Department of Trade and Industry, of long term - low carbon energy options
that advised the UK’s Energy Policy White Paper. Over the last year George
has been working as an Advisor to DTI’s Clean Fossil Fuels Unit. This
has involved making an economic assessment of Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage
(CCS) and acting as lead author of the DTI’s “Review of the Feasibility
of CCS for the UK”. He is now working with Brian Morris, Head of the
Cleaner Fossil Fuel Unit, to develop the UK’s strategy for a new Carbon
Abatement Technologies Programme.
