Background

The Dealing with Climate Change policies and measures database offers access to information on energy-related policies and measures taken or planned to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The database covers measures taken in IEA member countries and also includes some information on policies in Brazil, China, the European Union, India, Mexico, Russia and South Africa. This online service aims to complement the policy analysis carried out by the IEA on energy-related climate change mitigation. With over 1,500 records dating back to 1999, the database provides an excellent source of information on climate change mitigation policies in these countries.

The database is regularly updated by the IEA and reviewed by government experts from member countries. However, it may not be a complete listing of all actions taken to reduce energy-related greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in non-member countries. Information on actions taken by provincial or regional governments is not systematically included. If you believe information is missing, please help us to improve the quality of this service by contacting the IEA at CCdatabase@iea.org or via the online form at: http://www.iea.org/textbase/pm/GR-SHORTForm_clim.htm.
