World Energy Balances online data service 2017 edition - (expires 15 April 2018)

The World Energy Balances online data service contains energy balances for over 150 countries and regions. The figures are expressed in thousand tonnes of oil equivalent (ktoe) and in terajoules. Conversion factors used to calculate energy balances and indicators such as GDP and population are also provided. Definitions of products and flows, explanatory notes on the individual country data, indicators (including GDP, population, industrial production index and ratios calculated with the energy data) and net calorific values are also included. In general, the data are available from 1971 (1960 for OECD countries).

The World 2017 edition includes  annual data for 170 countries and regional aggregates for 1960-2015 for OECD countries and regions; and 1971-2015 non-OECD countries and regions; world); and provisional energy supply data for 2016.

The August 2017 update includes data up to 2015, with provisional supply data for 2016 for OECD countries and estimates for 2016 for non-OECD countries.

 

This service is updated twice a year. In April a preliminary edition containing OECD data only is published with the final edition released early August, augmented with data for more than 110 non-OECD countries.

 

This second edition of this new service is for sale at a special reduced price - almost 30% less than the combined cost of the 2 former data services it replaces (i.e. Energy Balances of OECD Countries and Energy Balances of Non-OECD Countries).
