IEA helps to inform the debate on climate change leading up to Doha
How much CO₂are countries emitting? Where is it coming from?
In the lead-up to the UN climate negotiations in Doha, the latest information on the level and growth of CO₂ emissions, their source and geographic distribution will be essential to lay the foundation for a global agreement. To provide input to and support for the UN process the IEA is making available for free download the "Highlights" version of CO₂ Emissions from Fuel Combustion.
This annual publication contains:
- estimates of CO₂emissions by country from 1971 to 2010
- selected indicators such as CO₂/GDP, CO₂/capita, CO₂/TPES and CO₂/kWh
- CO₂emissions from international marine and aviation bunkers, and other relevant information
These estimates have been calculated using the IEA energy databases and the default methods and emission factors from the Revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
As of 19 October 2012, the tables can be downloaded in Excel. The complete pdf file will be available starting on 13 November 2012.
