This document contains the summary report of the workshop on issues identification for near-term opportunities for carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS), which took place on 22-23 August 2006 in San Francisco, California.
It provided an opportunity for direct dialogue between concerned stakeholders in the global effort to accelerate the development and commercialisation of CCS technology. This is part of a series of three workshops on near-term opportunities for this important mitigation option that will feed into the G8 Plan of Action on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development.
The ultimate goal of this effort is to present a report and policy recommendations to the G8 leaders at their 2008 summit meeting in Japan.
