The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency outreach tools on climate change include:

  • "Climate Change - What You Can Do: Personal Emissions Calculator" and "Household Emissions Calculator": Online calculators to obtain estimates of personal GHG emissions or a familys GHG emissions;
  • "Power Profiler": Allows consumers to determine their power grid region based on your ZIP code and electric utility and compare the fuel mix and air emissions rates of the electricity in their region to the national average and determine the air emissions impacts of electricity use in their home or business
  • "Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator": This tool helps consumers visualize their GHG emissions in everyday terms.

EPA and its partners have developed several tools to help individuals and organizations determine the greenhouse (GHG) impact of their purchasing, manufacturing, and waste management actions. Tools are from EPA OARs Office of Transportation and Air Quality and Office of Atmospheric Programs and from OSWER (Solid Waste and Emergency Response).
