The Department of Defenses Energy Conservation Investment Program (ECIP) improves the energy and water efficiency of existing Military Services facilities, which in turn saves on energy usage and cost. Efforts include increasing investment in energy conservation to reduce the Departments reliance on fossil fuels by re-capitalizing its aging energy infrastructure with new energy efficient technology.
65 percent of projects are energy efficiency, 25 percent renewable energy, and 10 percent water conservation.
