ENERGY STAR sponsors a variety of national campaigns which seek to encourage energy efficiency and energy savings by consumers. Several active campaigns include: "Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR" is a national campaign encouraging all Americans and take small, individual steps that make a big difference in the fight against global warming. ENERGY STAR Pledge includes everyday actions, such as replacing lights with ENERGY STAR lights, servicing heating and cooling systems and performing proper maintenance, added insulation to attics, purchasing ENERGY STAR qualified computers and office products, as well as appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, and clothes washers. "ENERGY STAR Make a Cool Change: Recycle Your Old Fridge Campaign" engages consumers to make them aware of the inefficiencies of operating an older refrigerator or freezer. The campaign seeks to inform consumers about how to properly recycle older fridges and freezers, and replace them with ENERGY STAR qualified models. "ENERGY STAR Make a Clean Change: Recycle Your Old Washer Campaign" engages consumers to make them aware of the inefficiencies of operating an older clothes washer. The campaign seeks to inform consumers about how to properly recycle older washers, and replace them with ENERGY STAR qualified models.
