Description:Under the new Global Climate Change Initiative presented by the government in February 2002, the USA aims to reduce its greenhouse gas intensity (ratio of greenhouse gas emissions to economic output) by 18% over the next 10 years. The Strategy supports a range of actions both national and international. National actions pertaining to energy efficiency include: - New tax Incentives for renewable energy, cogeneration, and new technology. - Establishing voluntary agreements with the business community. - Developing comprehensive transportation Programs.
